which offers the most protection. leather or textile. or what.

Leather by far………although heavier..and hotter….
Textile in a slide will melt due to the friction between asphalt and the textile…depends on how much you enjoy your skin…and or having the doctor operating and having them remove possible layers of whatever skin and muscle tissue to remove the melted textile.

If weight and heat of regular leather is an issue….go kangaroo leather(Wolf has them)….it is even stronger the cow hide..and has much more abrasive resistance But 4x the price
