How do you fix a gear shift? My car will not turn off!?
Today I noticed my gear cover was a little out of place. I thought it was only the leather that had solved Come Cover … I drove home fine (no problems going shift from reverse to drive, etc.), but if I put my Car in park and tried to turn it off … It would not be deactivated. The engine was switched off, but the light on my dashboard console and stayed on and I could not take my Key from the ignition. Luckily my brother was in a position with the lid a bit and play finally parked my car … but it keeps happening. Who knows? how you resolve this problem? Should I try to remove the blanket and put it on again? Any information would be greatly appreciated. The car is a Pontiac Sunfire.
iwould say the most likely problem is the ignition, not the gear shift.when your bro played w / the cover, perhaps he has replaced what the disability was the internal mechanics of the ignition.there is a metal rod from the ignition (within the disk Colum) up to a switch that activates the electrical system and starter.when Turn your key, the rod moves down.when turn off your car, should the rod to mave, which turns everything off.this is certainly a job for a backyard mech.or workshop.
